Lonely Planet has a soft spot for Oman. Its former owner memorably mentioned that he had his best Indian food for a year in one of Oman’s small Indian run restaurants (though we are not so convinced by his choice).
So its also nice to find that Muscat is second in the Lonely Planets top destinations for 2012; and who are we to disagree on this point! trailing not surprisingly the Olympic City of London.
