The Ministry of Tourism organised a meeting of their overseas representatives and Oman based travel industry companies at Al Bustan Palace. RepresentationPlus gave us a ‘speed talk’ on the methods they will be using to raise awareness of Oman within the United Kingdom.

Lonely Planet has a soft spot for Oman. Its former owner memorably mentioned that he had his best Indian food for a year in one of Oman’s small Indian run restaurants (though we are not so convinced by his choice).

So its also nice to find that Muscat is second in the Lonely Planets top destinations for 2012; and who are we to disagree on this point! trailing not surprisingly the Olympic City of London.

They were here to do a program for the Travel Channel and as they have been into Oman before we think this one should be well worth seeing especially as it not only covers Oman’s dramatic scenery but also the wonderful Royal Opera House.
