Rain in Oman’s Mountains

We spent a wonderful day up in the cool of Oman’s northern mountains. For much of the time we were under cloud cover which, as the day wore on, increased .

Its unusual to have extensive cloud cover here, but on the drive home we drove through about 150kms of intermittent rain – arriving in Muscat to find that the rain probably arrived in Muscat first, before covering the mountain peaks inland.

Gulf Cup win for Oman in Style 6-5

Phew – what a gripping Gulf Cup match – Oman had a good first half but weren’t able to finish their goal attempts; through to the second half and still no score, nail biting indeed. On to extra time, first 15mins, nothing, second 15 still nothing – and on to penalties. 5 goals each, and then – the Saudi missed and Oman’s Mohammed Al-Noobi got into the net – a win ; and in MHO a well deserved win. Just after the match – its a holiday on Sunday was announced.

On to the Corniche and a memorable sight of so many delirious people, so happy that after over 30 years and being in 3 finals Oman has the Gulf Cup.

Poor team though – they have another International on Monday; we passed their bus going back to Al Bustan at 01.30am – a long day and I bet a sleepless night.
